Virginia and I grew up at the same school with some of the same friends but didn't really meet until the 7th grade. In the most junior high boy way ever, I kicked the back of her chair in class as my best attempt at flirting. Oddly enough, it eventually caught her attention.

I was dating a beautiful girl with a personality I loved. Turns out Jesus was doing more than just that.

Virginia grew up in church and doesn't remember a time when she didn't believe in and trust Jesus. She has been blessed to spend her life growing in her faith and the way she follows Jesus. I grew up church-adjacent—never far away, but never close by for long.

When Virginia and I started dating, I began going to church with her because it was one more chance to be near her. Over the next two years, Jesus began to reorient my life to the point that I could do nothing but surrender and follow Him.

After many date nights, a calling to ministry, college degrees, and ten years of being together, in the summer of 2015, we were finally married!

A few months later, we packed a couple of suitcases and moved to the suburbs of Sydney, Australia, to spend the next year partnering with a local church to teach the Bible in the school system. Jesus used that year to help Virginia and me come to a greater appreciation for following Him in a community of believers.

Once we returned to Mississippi, we settled in Pearl where Virginia began working as a dietitian, where we found an excellent church that I later began working with, and where, most importantly of all, we brought our three kiddos into the world. Luna Ray, Ezra Pheonix, and Stella Renee.

A lot of messiness happened on the journey here. A lot of adventures too! We're excited to share what we've learned from both with you so we can all grow together!

We have three primary outlets to make our dream of embracing the mess of life together a reality:
